Thursday: Cruise to lundy island
Lundy lies off the coast of North Devon, where the Atlantic ocean meets the Bristol Channel with nothing between it and America, a granite outcrop, three miles long and half a mile wide. In the hubbub of the modern world, it is a place apart, peaceful and unspoiled.
Enjoy the cruise along the North Devon Coast over to Lundy, keeping your eyes peeled for sea birds, dolphins and harbour porpoise. Then once you land at the Island, wander and explore, see the wildlife and birds, (including puffins in the Spring/early Summer) and then relax in the Marisco Tavern for a well earned drink!
Day Trips run on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from April to October, plus Wednesdays in the school Summer holidays from either Ilfracombe or Bideford. Sailings from Ilfracombe leave at 10am. Sailings from Bideford leave earlier. The crossing is 2 hours each way, allowing approximately 4 hours on the Island.
