3. Mason Arms, Knowstone

Nestled on the edge of Exmoor this 13th century thatched pub has more than meets the eye. When you get past the roaring fires and leather stud chairs you will find the award-winning fine dining restaurant just beyond waiting for your appreciation. With a focus on local produce and some of the finest seasonal adjusted ingredients around the menu is divine and well worthy of the 15 consecutive Micheline awards it has gained!

4. The Seacliff Restaurant, Ilfracombe
