Tandem flights are the most immediately accessible option, strapping you into a harness alongside an experienced qualified pilot who takes full control of the glider while you simply sit back, enjoy the sensation of silent, effortless flight and take in the extraordinary views of the North Devon coast unfolding below you. Looking down from several hundred feet above the sea at the beaches, headlands and countryside of this beautiful part of England from the silence of a paraglider is one of those experiences that tends to render even the most talkative passengers briefly speechless.

The North Devon coast is a genuinely excellent area for paragliding, with reliable westerly and south-westerly winds providing consistent soaring conditions over the coastal hills and clifftops. The launch sites here offer a combination of spectacular scenery and good, predictable air that makes them popular with local and visiting pilots alike. Saunton Down is a particular favourite, with its broad grassy slope providing reliable conditions and a wonderful view of the beach below.
