Woolacombe

A spectacular coastline of cliffs, coves, beaches, dunes and headlands, but that’s not all…

Life’s a beach

Woolacombe Beach has all you need for happier holidays. Nestling between rugged unspoilt Baggy Point and Mortehoe, Woolacombe is framed by the hills of Woolacombe Downs, in the stunning region of North Devon.

The award-winning Woolacombe Beach is less than a 4 minute walk away from Byron Woolacombe Holidays and offers:

– Supervised RNLI Lifeguard service at specific times in the year.  #RespectTheWater
– Action sports – surfing, kite surfing, swimming, rock climbing, sea fishing and more
– Regular surfing competitions
– Dog-free and dog-friendly areas of the beach

For more information you can also visit Parkin Estates, private owners of Woolacombe Beach, who have provided visitors with an impressive level of service and facilities unrivalled in the area since 1948.

When you fancy a change, the Byron apartments are in easy reach of three more amazing beaches, Putsborough, Barricane and Coombesgate Beach (which can be reached from Barricane when the tide is out).

Barricane, or Shell Beach as it is known locally, has a small beach café serving homemade Sri-Lankan curries. People take rugs and cushions, chilled beer or wine and enjoy watching the sunset. It’s very popular, so get there early and take a bottle!

Laid-Back Village Life

In Woolacombe village you’ll find a range of eclectic boutique, cafés, bars and places to eat as well as the more practical shops.

THERE’S SO MUCH MORE TO DO….

Life’s not just a beach – there’s more to do than you’ll have time for in one visit, which is a perfect excuse to come back time and time again.

– Spectacular walks
– Golf courses and tennis courts
– Horse-riding, archery and clay pigeon shooting
– Zipwire and adventure parks
– Swimming pools, watersports and surfing
– Cycle the Tarka trail
– Castles and stately homes
– Gardens and sculpture parks
– Theatres, cinemas and museums
