apartment and appliance guide

We wish you a pleasant and relaxing stay in the apartment and hope you enjoy Byron as much as we do!

GENERAL Guidance

  • Appliances – If you require further information on how to use an item please contact your property manager for assistance before doing so.
  • Arrival – Should you have any difficulties or find damage on arrival, please call your property manager or housekeeper as soon as possible, their number will be in your welcome email. It is essential that you contact them so that any problems can be quickly resolved and accounted for. You should email your booking agent at info@bwhlholidays.co.uk to ensure this is detailed in writing.
  • Heating – Each room has an electric heater which is operated via the wall mounted controller on top of the heater. Heated electrical towel rails are simply controlled on/off via the low-level switch outside each room. Do not leave any items on the heaters as this can cause damage to the heater which will be reflected in your security deposit return.
  • Patio doors – Please make sure that the keys are removed from any bifold door if located in the apartment, once the door is unlocked, so that they do not obstruct and mark the door when it is opened. Also, the handle needs to be in a downward position before the door is fully opened.
  • Smoking – Please note all apartments are non-smoking, including on balconies, and all apartments have smoke detectors fitted.
  • Washing Machine – This can be found in the kitchen area or utility cupboard. Select the programme on the washing machine.
  • WIFI – Password can be found on the back of the router. If you have a welcome manual in your apartment you may have to locate this here instead.

bathroom

  • Extractor Fans – Please note due to this advanced technology of the MVHR units there are no extractor fans and the units are designed to be silent so you will not hear when these are switched on.
  • Heating – Towel rails can be switched on using an external switch outside the bathroom. This is normally located near to the floor.
  • Hot Water – Hot water is on as standard, however, if any issues please press the boost button next to boiler and allow up to 30 minutes for hot water or contact your property manager. Please be mindful of showering at peak times.

Kitchen

  • Bins and Recycling – Please use the bins in the apartment during your stay. Please separate your rubbish and recyclable items and dispose at the end of your stay. For your reference the bin store for Byron is located by the entrance to the car park, inside the wooden area, behind the doors. Please see our initiatives for helping our guests become Plastic Free North Devon supporters this year.
  • Dishwasher – The Dishwasher is switched on at the wall. Select the programme on the dishwasher.
  • Fridge – This is set to the optimum temperature prior to arrival, please do not turn off.
  • Oven– The Oven is switched on at the wall. Turn the control on the oven to the desired function and heat. Please beware of hot surfaces and use oven gloves or towels for handling hot food and do not put hot items on worktops.
  • Ventilation – Your MVHR Unit (Mechanical Heat Vent Recovery) extraction & ventilation system is configured to operate continuously to provide permanent background ventilation.  Please use the boost facility during cooking & showering. It is triggered by operation of the local switch near to the light switch.  You must switch off boost once finished. Located on the wall outside each bathroom and one in the kitchen.
